Organizing the Craft Room

Posted on January 09, 2012

With the advent of bookmarking sites like Pinterest, people everywhere are trying their hand at creative crafts and DIY projects. It doesn't matter if you're into scrapbooking, jewelry making, crocheting or DIY decor. Whatever your creative hobby is, you'll need an organized space to keep your supplies in order. So how can you get your craft area looking good just in time for Get Organized Month?

  • DIY wall units equipped with hook racks are perfect for hanging things like scissors, fabric swatches, rolls of tape, and so much more.
  • Peg boards are fun because they can be painted, but also because many small bins can be attached to hold accessories, writing utensils and other tools.
  • Cubby holes are one of the easiest ways to organize crafts by category. And using clear plastic storage bins makes finding what you need a cinch!
  • You can also go one step further by using labels to identify what's inside each cubby hole and plastic storage bin.
What other ways can you think of to organize a craft or hobby room?
