Fall Closet Cleaning
Fall is about the right time to start making some major closet changes. The weather is cooling down, which means it’s time to break out the sweaters and boots! After all, there’s no need for tank tops, shorts and sandals to take up precious space when they won’t be needed for at least six months. But how do you go about making such a major closet transition? It’s all about preparation.
- Make sure you have enough storage for items you won’t be wearing for a while. Many people opt for large black garbage bags, but plastic bins and totes are a better way to go.
- Use this time to get rid of things you can’t fit or won’t wear. Either donate your items or sell them for some extra cash.
- Try grouping like items together. For examples, sweaters shouldn’t be mixed with holiday formal wear. Separating items not only looks neater, but it’ll make your items easier to find.
- You’ll also feel better if you take the time to truly clean your closet. Vacuum the floors. Wipe down the walls. Dust off your shelves. Add a plug in or some other type of air freshner.
