Life Uncluttered's Mike McMahon speaks to the Kansas City Star

Mike Merritt • Apr 03, 2018

Our very own Mike McMahon was recently quoted in the Kansas City Star in their article titled “Shuffle the floor plan by giving old spaces new purposes.” The article talks about the benefits of repurposing an existing room into a dressing room. Stacy Downs with the Kansas City Star says that “Bedrooms-morphed-into-dressing-rooms are especially desirable in older homes, which can be storage-challenged.”

We couldn’t agree more! Dressing rooms are becoming quite popular, especially with movies such as Sex and the City where the lead character Carrie Bradshaw's main buying point for a home is the closet. By changing a spare bedroom or a bonus room into a dressing room we are offering clients a way take advantage of underutilized space.

Mike was quoted as saying “Dressing rooms can be more practical than luxurious. Electricity doesn’t have to be upgraded, and walls don’t have to be knocked down. The equipment doesn’t have to be expensive. And it can be taken down and moved if the homeowner decides to relocate in the future.”
