Control the Clutter

Mike Merritt • Apr 03, 2018

Usually by this time of the week my house was overflowing with clutter. Shoes were left out, toys were in every room of the house, and my house looked completely and utterly lived in.

A tip that I found useful for controlling the clutter was to take a photo of every room in the house when it is at its messiest, study the photos and see where the problem areas are, mine were usually the master bedroom, my closet and the family room. Now that you have identified the problem areas you can tackle the mess.

Lately I have gotten into the habit of taking a few extra minutes and hanging up the clothes that are left all over the closet from the morning’s “I don’t know what to wear” rampage. My jewelry is securely in its place in a drawer rather than laying out on my nightstand. My children’s toys, which used to be in every room of the house, are now placed neatly in bins and baskets that I have in each room.

Life is so much better with a little organization.
