Back-To-School Wardrobe

Mike Merritt • Apr 03, 2018

With school starting back in a couple of weeks, we thought we’d share some tips on how to properly shop for that back-to-school wardrobe. According to the National Retail Federation, the average family spends around $600 on clothes, shoes, school supplies and electronics. We want to help you cut your back-to-school costs in half.

First thing you should do is take inventory of your child’s closet. To get a clear idea what you are working with as far as clothes and shoes go, we recommend purging all the items that no longer fit your child. Once you have taken stock of what you already have you can head to the mall and pick out 6 to 7 basic pieces that will serve as the foundation of your child’s wardrobe.

An easy way to save money on clothes for your child is to extend the child’s wardrobe into fall by adding leggings and a sweater to those cute summer dresses. You can also change the look of an outfit by adding accessories such as a scarf, belt, or jacket.

Good luck and Happy Back-To-School Shopping!
