Are You Wasting Precious Square Footage?

Posted on July 18, 2011

It doesn’t take long for spacious closets to become crammed with clothes, shoes and other stuff after moving into a new home. Some people simple underestimate how much they really have. The National Association of Home Builders has one tip we especially like on how to find the extra storage space you desperately need.

Make Use of Wasted Square Footage

In closets and in the kitchen, use all of the space that is available to you. Often home owners are giving up valuable square footage if they don’t install cabinets or shelves that go up to the ceiling. Store items that are either out of season or that are rarely accessed — such as holiday decorations — on the higher shelves where they are out of the way. This will free up the lower shelves to allow you to get to the things that you use on a regular basis.

Luckily, Life Uncluttered can help in this area. Our custom closet solutions can help you to achieve maximum storage space by extending the height of your closet. Call us at 913-491-0900 to find out more about our custom closets and storage solutions.
